Extract Music or video played online from your computer.

You may often listen to music online from sites like Jango and watch video on youtube. The music
or video buffered or played are downloaded to your computer. Where are they stored and how to get
them? This is what this post is all about.
Okay go to any website, where you want to listen music or watch video online. However, I'll songs stuff
 Search for you favorite song. Listen the song till it is finished. When it's finished the real thing begins.
  • Go to My Computer
  • Click on Tools menu --> Folder Option.

  • Click on View tab

  • Under Advanced settings: check Show hidden files and folders radio button.

  • Click Apply

  • Go to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles and click on folder named xxxxx.default.
  • There will be a folder named Cache open it.
    The files are downloaded here.
  • As you can see, the files have unrecognizable names and have not extensions. So we have to do some
    guessing stuff.
  • Go to View menu -->Arrange Icons by and click on Size, so that big files go to the bottom.
  • Scroll down the window to bottom and hover your mouse on every file and check their sizes.
    A four minutes song is approximately 3.5 MB. Just calculate the size of file according to its length.
  • When you become sure that the particular file is your song file, copy it and paste it on the Desktop.
  • Right click the file and click on Rename. Just after file name add .(dot)mp3 and hit enter. Try to play
    the file. If it doesn't work try another file. You'll succeed.

    Note: The streamed Music files have basically  mp3 extention and videos have flv extention.
